Barramundi — also known as Asian Sea Bass — is a popular aquaculture fish worldwide. It is a native fish to Australia and Southeast Asia. Its flesh is pearly-pink when raw and white when cooked. Small Barramundi have a milder taste than the larger fish. The skin is edible and crisps up nicely—very similar to salmon. The cooked, white flesh is flaky and, while the amount varies by fish, it generally has a moderate amount of fat in it.
